Brawl Stars: The Rise and Fall of Starr Park

I contributed to the Unreal Engine development of The Rise and Fall of Starr Park, an ambitious interactive experience created around Supercell's Brawl Stars universe.

The project was presented as a continuously evolving, CCTV-style real-time experience, with the environment changing throughout the presentation to tell its story. Across approximately 18 narrative scenes, the experience incorporated changes in time of day, weather, destruction and character activity, creating an environment that felt alive rather than behaving like a traditional linear cinematic.

I worked on the Unreal Engine implementation supporting the project's interactive and real-time presentation, helping bring the creative direction into a functioning technical environment. This involved implementing gameplay-style interactions and systems that allowed the environment and its characters to respond as required by the experience.

The project also involved an unusually large amount of background character variation, with approximately 30,000 character variations contributing to the populated environments. The final experience became a major piece of Brawl Stars marketing content, reaching approximately 89 million views.

Technologies: Unreal Engine, Blueprints, Sequencer, Editor Tools, NPC Behavior, environmental storytelling, UI/UX.
